The goal

The ideas should be available to everyone.

Content should remain readable when text is enlarged or a page is magnified.

Navigation and controls should work without requiring a mouse or precise movement.

Motion, imagery, and visual styling should never prevent access to the words.

Commitment

JeffKirk.com is committed to providing an inclusive experience for people with disabilities. Accessibility is treated as part of the site’s design, writing, maintenance, and testing rather than as a separate visual mode.

The site is designed toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at Level AA. This is an ongoing goal, not a claim that every page or third-party service is without limitation.

Features in place

  • a skip link that moves keyboard users directly to the main content;
  • clear headings, page landmarks, navigation labels, and descriptive link text;
  • visible keyboard focus and keyboard-operable menus, filters, sharing controls, and section links;
  • descriptive alternative text for meaningful images;
  • support for reduced-motion preferences;
  • responsive layouts intended to reflow when text is enlarged; and
  • an alternative subscription link when the newsletter form is difficult to use.

Standards and testing

Accessibility checks are included in the site’s release process. They cover page language, main landmarks, heading structure, image descriptions, form and frame labels, keyboard focus, reduced motion, text reflow, and the size of important interactive controls.

Automated checks cannot determine whether every experience is accessible. The site is also reviewed through keyboard navigation, responsive layouts, magnification, and representative screen-reader behavior.

Known limitations

The newsletter subscription form sends the email address you provide securely to Beehiiv, which manages the subscriber list and newsletter delivery.

If the form is difficult to use, visit the separate Beehiiv subscription page. Published Observations remain available on JeffKirk.com without an account or subscription.
